The firm was founded in 1715 and has been based in Lincoln’s Inn since 1745. The continuing demand for our services reflects our 21st century working practices.
We understand our clients’ needs and tailor our work to each set of circumstances, providing high quality, cost effective advice. We are a multi disciplinary practice and work collaboratively to provide a comprehensive service over all our practice areas.
A designated partner is personally responsible for every client: the special relationship which develops from this arrangement – very often built up over many years – is the bedrock of our practice.
2015 saw Hunters reach a particularly special milestone, namely our Tercentenary. We celebrated our 300 years throughout 2015 and introduced a number of new initiatives aimed at making sure we continue to do what our clients want and need from us.
As a wise man once said: “The farther back you can look the farther forward you are likely to see”. Everything we do takes the long term view, both for our clients and for the firm itself. Our Tercentenary is a reminder to us that our history is there to inspire our future.
Hunters hosted our first lectures series during 2015 as well as introducing our Charity of the Year initiative. 2015 also saw us merge with May, May & Merrimans and launch our new website. As is important for all anniversary, we held our 300th birthday party at Westminster Abbey!
A busy year but a great start to the next 300 years.
We are proud to sponsor the inaugural London Art Week (LAW) Winter event, running from 1st – 8th December across Mayfair and St James’s, the traditional heart of London’s art world.
Long established as a summertime fixture, 2017’s LAW Winter is the first of its kind to entice art lovers to put on their walking shoes and explore this winter’s selection of exhibitions.

Hunters is proud to be supporting The Trussell Trust as our Charity of The Year 2018.
In the UK, 1.3 million people are officially destitute – unable to afford life’s essentials. The Trussell Trust is an anti-poverty charity that partners with local communities to help STOP UK HUNGER and provides Nationwide Foodbank Coverage with a network of over 400 foodbanks handing out emergency food and support to people in crisis in the UK. Each year over 12 million meals are given out to over 500,000 individuals, and the number keeps growing.
To build resilience and help prevent people needing referral to a foodbank again, the charity has a More Than food approach, creating free additional support services, like debt advice and budget cookery courses. Over 40,000 frontline professionals refer people to Trussell Trust foodbanks and foodbank volunteers are also trained to signpost people to other agencies and services able to help resolve the underlying cause of the crisis.
